This is officially my first store review on the blog and I chose this store since this is “JUST THE RIGHT TIME” , they have a sale coming up tomorrow which is once a year . The Sari bug is “ONLY” one year old and started with a beautiful linen sari I picked from my friends boutique here in Pune – KEMORAH DESIGNS. Coming back to the store I’m talking about – JAIN CHANDERI.
I was looking for a decent store to pick a Chanderi Sari as that was missing in my wardrobe (along with others) and while searching for that, I came across this store. Now, I’m not an exhibition person , per se , I prefer a store most of the times and found this the best option. To my surprise when I went there it was this time of the year and they had this sale going on, there were 2 ladies with bunch of saris on their side, when asked, they said … “This is the best time to come here as they have their annual sale, which is very reliable , as all year around they don’t give any discounts, so if you want to stock up, do so now”.
Anyway, I was looking for just one and my range was also fixed so I was free in 15 – 20 minutes, the sales associate was very helpful and showed me nice stuff, very polite and helpful plus very calm , they address you “TAI” which means “Big sister” in Marathi .
I picked this Indigo Dabu Print on Cotton Chanderi which was 1500/- and after discount it was some 1350/- , just the right thing for me considering it was my first Cotton Chanderi Sari.
Seen here in my first “Chanderi Cotton Dabu Print Sari” for a movie date with my friend
Talking about the fabric – CHANDERI COTTON is very light weight fabric which sits nicely and easy to manage, the speciality of the fabric is its sheer texture and shimmering feel with golden Zari on borders . This is the best fabric to invest in for summers and I can see why this is so much in trend these days on IG.
I never thought a cotton sari would be that easy to drape until I came across this and honestly I’m looking forward for the sale so that I can pick a new piece, may be Chanderi Silk this time with traditional motifs and little weaving . CHANDERI , a small town in MP is the place where the fabric is originated from and you will get to know more about it in coming Bollywood movie of Shraddha Kapoor, how cool that is!
