There are very few drugstore brands which are value for money along with good quality and wide selection of colours and the two names that always come to my mind are REVLON and MAYBELLINE, these 2 brands never fails to impress me. While we all are eagerly waiting for MAYBELLINE Colour Sensational VIVIDS launch here in India , I managed to pick these recently from ULTA for $ 8 plus Tax each , and trust me for the past few days I even wear them at home , they are stunningly gorgeous and so addictive . I need to stock up some more shades but for now here is the review for the ones I have.
So far I tried 3 shades and all of them are consistent, very creamy and easy to glide, covers pigmentation easily and are moderately hydrating. They don’t settle in fine lines or bleed and above all never makes my lips dry even if I keep the lipstick for hrs. I get some 4 plus hrs of wear with these and then they leave behind a nice tint, the HOT PLUM shade left my lips stained which I had to remove with good makeup remover. I am thoroughly impressed with the staying power, texture and shades, the only thing that is not impressive is the weird smell they have and the packaging.
# 900 HOT PLUM is cool toned Bright but not Neon, Fuchsia pink shade with strong purple tones, there is supper fine purple shimmer to it which adds that high glass like shine to lips.
# 890 Neon Red is warm toned orange based bright and vivid shade of RED and has a very beautiful glossy sheen to it; there is no shimmer just high gloss shine.
I really didn’t liked the flimsy packaging but as the price is very decent there are not many complaints – it is housed in silver tube which is bulky and has a NEON REDDISH ORANGE cap , the bottom of the tube have same shade of sticker as the lipstick inside along with number .

Oh my..I hope they launch these in India soon.. the neon red looks beautiful on your lips, it is looking rather orangey on the hand though. I just cannot decide between the two both look beautiful.

I ant the entire range Rashmi! The colours look fabulous on you! My fav is Mandarin – its such a lovely coral orange!!! I want Vivid Rose soooooooo badly!!
