MAC Speak Louder Lipstick : Review

 

MAC SPEAK LOUDER Lipstick is described as clean poppy blue pink; to me it is bright blue based cool toned pink shade with a subtle redness to it plus softer look to it, more wearable version of pink for medium – dark skin tone like mine. On me it looks pretty effortless and looks good even without much makeup.

It comes from crème sheen formula, not very great for matte lover like me; I prefer MATTE, SATIN and AMPLIFIED a lot and reach for these 3 finishes if I want to pick something from MAC. But, as I loved lip liners a lot few months back, picked some sheer lipsticks and this is one of those purchases. I don’t regret with this but yeah, would prefer a solid finish above this. It is bright but not NEON, so keep that in mind if you are looking for bright but easy, not in your face shade, this might impress you.

On me it stays for 4 + hrs and then there is little dryness which I feel is due to the finish . Not impressive but still nothing much to complaint about .

On Scale of 1 – 10, I would give this 8 – if you love sheer lipsticks and are looking for bright pink shade and don’t want something like GAT / Impassioned by MAC, this is great option to start with. Where I loved this shade, I find it is very easy to dupe or say, not even dupe but you can find great pink lipsticks from drugstore brands. It is not a must have shade for me any day.

    This is my favorite pink lipstick Rashmi. i love the color. <3 but yeah as you said, not a fan of this finish. It bleeds. 🙁 Looks lovely on you. 🙂

I am looking for a new foundation. Got colour matched for Chanel Perfection lumiere and the MUA said no shade matches me perfectly 🙁

    This is sooooo weird! I happened to check this out at MAC yst… Along with Elegant accent. Didn’t pick up this one coz though the colour looked pretty, I think I have way too many pinks. Rosy pinks n neon pinks… Especially BBs and I lie their texture waaaaaay better than anything MAC has to offer!

    Are u saying you dropped 12kgs in 6 months? How???? Need help desperately!!

        No, didnt pick this one. Actually, didnt pick Elegant Accent too coz hoping to pick Givenchy Rose Dressing (which is similar)…had gone to check whether it would suit my color or not. Finally picked Fuschia Fever from EL along with their latest foundation and got delightful GWP!!

        Had been meaning to check with you about the Mineralize lipstick range…which ones you picked? I had shortlisted ELegant Accent and Lady at play but they didnt have the second one. Now waiting for Tropical Taboo…looked fab on “you-know-who!!”

        Did you check out any of the new paint pots?

          I have both the shades you mentioned ( like minded people ) 😀 just received as I picked from US 😀 glad paid little less hahaha

    I never thought like this….as in which is the Best shade that I have…hmmm….its difficult, na? EL Wildly Pink, EL Poppy Love and BB Rose Blossom would be close contenders to this one! I really liked EL Raspberry – thinking of picking that….is that too many hot pinks, Rashmi?? And I was also thinking of Fireball…Any views on Fireball?

    GWP – Got a tester for their new perfume, 2 skincare serum sachets, a Coppery Shimmery lipstick (sorry, havent registered the actual name)!! YAY!!

    What was fab was that I must have tried a dozen shades but the SA (actually she was the store manager) was so sweet and patient throughout. No dirty glances or losing patience…and no phoney “you look great in all colours” talk! It was a welcome change!

    Pls pls pls review the Mineralize lipsticks….I do wanna pick one at least….Either Lady at Play or wait for Tropical Taboo??

          NARS are at a great value but unfortunately, the colours I want are not there – Funny Face and Fire Down Below. I have shortlisted Flamenco. Thought it was a good time to pick Burberry (really really really want to try them) but only 2 colors available and not my kind of colours). DId look at Armani but couldnt fix on a colour – 402 or 600. Red that 400 bleeds was a turn-off…started wondering if it is for the entire range. Which one did you get? And howz the texture?

          Looked at Dior Addict also but they seem to be sheer and like Revlon Lip Butters (which I just dont like!)..so dropped the idea!

            I picked ARMANI # 401 , I already have # 501 which is tooooo light for me .. but as son loves pink I may use it .. its still untouched ahhaha 😀 😀
            I did liked # 600 which you mentioned 😀 but then thought it may be close to fuchsia fever so chucked the idea and picked # 401

        Await review and swatches of the Mineralize collection. Its strange but I am okay to pick EL at 1700+, but MAC at 1500+ is looking very expensive! Weird, no/

    BTW…I really liked GA #600 – You feel Fuschia Fever is a dupe? You mean Maybelline Fuschia Fever, right? Coz EL Fuschia Fever is darker, right?
