MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Earthshine : Review and FOTD

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Earthshine  ($29.00 or 1800/- INR for 0.24 oz.) is described as a “tarnished bronze with gold pearl and pink reflects” Part of MAC Heavenly Creatures Collection it is one of the darkest shades of MSF’s , the other shades are little too light for my liking. Finally a shade of blush / highlighter meant for women of colour, the recent collections witnessed most of the lighter shades of blush but this one surprised me and am so much in love with this.

Earthshineis dirty bronze brown berry shade with beautiful golden sheen to it, very warm and suits my medium – dark skin tone perfectly and doesn’t need much effort. It stays good for 6 – 7 hrs without fading and loosing the beautiful sheen and shimmer. It is finally milled and the swirls of plum berry colour are not overlay, they will stay forever like this.

Where I really loved the shade I find it is very easy to go overboard with this, you can only use this with warm colours and I particularly love this with reds or brick reds. It is soft to touch and I use a simple blush brush to apply this. The texture is easy to work with but as it is mineralized I am suspecting that it will turn little hard over the time.

I am not sure about the other shades but this one is bang on awesome for our skin tone. You must check this out and try out in store if you can. I am sure there are enough pieces in most of the stores from this collection.

And this is how the color looks on my NC 40 skin tone :

I have this and I really like it for a subtle glow. You’re right about how easy it is to go overboard and look like a disco ball :)

Btw, if you feel like it, you can try it on as an eyeshadow. When used with a creamy base, like a paintpot, the mineralize formula clings on very well. It’s great for a soft, smoky look.

I also sometimes use Earthshine as a subtle brow highlight.
