Writing a review for REVLON Colorstay foundation … well actually not ..why ?? Coz I no more use this or say never used this much .. then why spent money ?? Thanks to all YouTube gurus who were raving about this foundation … so picked this on BOGO or may be BOGO half ..

I picked this in US and not to mention I only like TM’s and this was actually not in my list but then I was going through this YouTube hangover so picked this after reading and hearing a lot about this .. and no where in my dreams I was about to buy MAC so satisfied the urge of MAC Studio Fix with this tiny bottle as its said to be its dupe .. OHH not a news for you right ??

You might have read various reviews about this and know how popular it is .. its just that I never cared to review this .. high time right ?? So come on and see what all I have to share with you on this beauty

Foundation comes in standard glass bottle of 30 ml and with black matte finish cap and no pump to dispense the product , the consistency of the foundation is very liquid , it dries so fast that you really need to be quick in blending otherwise it will leave dry patches …

How do I use this– I take out some at the back of hand , dot dot dot on whole face , then spritz some MAC’s FIX + on MAC’s 109 brush and then blend in circular motions …  warm up my hands and press on forehead and cheeks … it gives nice even look , and yeah although my skin is oily I always moisturize it well before using this

Some Pros and Cons to share –

Pros – If you love heavy coverage this one is perfect for you and not to forget oily skin gals , this would be your best buddy as it doesn’t leave my skin oily or shiny even after hrs of wear , It has nice color range to choose from that’s the biggest likes I have for this , its easily available in market and you don’t need to take a leave from office to search for this , rush to nearest beauty counter and you can easily spot this beauty however they might be out of stock with your shade ( quite possible) as its hottest selling mass brand foundation , the color I have or I tried were very much yellow based and moreover when I scrolled through this in NBC Khar I noticed we have only few shades available here , although in USA the counters were flooded with shade varieties … but then again companies are much smarter then what we think.. only yellow based shades are launched here so worry not and try out this in store coz it will suit our skin tone to T …

Although you need to do your homework honey … go through “Foundation Matrix” on Temptalia and write down all possible shades which will suit your skin tone

Cons – It has this weired smell … goshh I just cant stand that smell .. no reasons why ?? It dries very quickly so you need to be extra quick while applying this , SPF in it makes face looks white at times .. but that might be only me … you can try in store and click your pics to see if its true , the bottle has this wide opening rather then pump which I don’t like as its very unhygienic and moreover you always loose control over the product , for dry skin gals .. pls pls pls try this 2 – 3 or 4 times coz it might be too dry for you , although they have this normal/dry range but make sure before shedding your hard earned money , The price … whooping 800/- bucks , are you ready to spend ??

I love medium coverage so definitely not for me but yeah if you like heavy coverage , matte finish go for this and I wish you all the good luck in finding your shade , I am NC 35 and I purchased this in 310 Warm Golden , may be too light for me .. what say ??

The color selection in this range is very good and especially according to our Indian skin tone , if you love heavy coverage do try this out although I love love love MaxFactor from mass brands for foundations and Bourjois Healthy Mix is on my wish list ….

If you are much of a party gal where all you need is hang loose and dance till you drop , no camera click just the extra calorie burning dance moves this foundation is for you as it will stay for hrs and will not make you shiny and you will look fresh till the wee hrs of morning and not to mention your guy would love the clean matte look your face will have … I assure you

    it is not looking as great as the max factor one may be because this foundation gives a whitish cast and it is better to avoid it when u r attending a function otherwise it is just awesome ..i have loved it so much ..:)

    Thank you so much Rashmi. i was soo looking forward to this post. I might give this one a try as the shade looks very like my own skin tone. Yes, too much of flash makes almost everything a bit whitish. I get totally washed out even with no make up at all. Might be my weird skin tone.
    I’m planning to carry my perfect shade around and find the corresponding shade. Is it a bad idea? because if I’m shelling out a hefty amount I want to ensure that I don’t go wrong.
