I loved each and every one of them…Is there a kind of freedom system like thingie with MAC too?? So that we can buy e/s of our choice and put em in a palette?

      Hi Poornima,

Most (except for limited edition colours) eyeshadow from MAC can be placed into a palette. You just buy the refill instead of the single pans. The refill is cheaper than the single pans.

Then you get either 4-shadow palette or 15-shadow palette from MAC itself and fill it in. Refill eyeshadow pans come with the magnet so you don’t have to do anything aside from placing it into the palette.

mac’s empty pallete comes costly na……….???
and will mac let us buy refills ……wont they insist on buying single pans………and in what packaging do they sell refills…..??

Err yes you can buy refills – when you are in the MAC store just say you want colour XYZ in refill form and they will sell it to you – unless it is a limited edition colour like the Venomous Villains or Fabulous Felines – those colours don’t come in refills, just individual pans or quads. MAC is a professional make up artist brand that caters to both normal people and make up artists so they really have no problem selling you refills. A refill is packed in a black envelope. When you remove it it is just what you see Rashmi Didi posting here in the photographs – the metal pan with the powdered shadow inside and a magnet attached at the back. Then you get a palette from MAC and simply place the shadow inside the hole in the palette – that’s it. You might want to surf MAC’s US website – they explain it there under “Kit Essentials –> Pro Palette”.
